Rehabilitation of FDR Drive

In 2004 the New York State Department of Transportation hired Gandhi Engineering to design and rehabilitate the FDR Drive viaduct on 34th Street. This project involved analyzing the current state of FDR Drive and developing a community-sensitive design to improve the deficiencies in the area. Our scope of work included improved pedestrian access to the waterfront, roadway safety, improvements to drainage and lighting, developing traffic schemes, and conceptualizing rehabilitation alternatives to reconstruct the bridge structure.
